Week 2 - Design Process

3 Developed Spore Creatures

Lorcan was influenced by the Maggie Centre Building for both its form and character. I modeled Lorcan similar to my paper model, the tail being the long spike, and the flaps his wings. I thought the Maggie Centre Building had sharp and defined edges, standing out proud and dominating the surrounding. That is why I made his character sharp and fierce as well.  His environment would consist of sharp and defined edges of a harsh environment. Probably something like a snowy mountain with sharp rocks.

Seacil was influenced by the Chamber Music hall by its form and characteristic as well. Through the many curves of the building, I have created a curved and female creature to demonstrate the flow of the building. The lack of sharp edges in the building led me to think of making the creature a female, being less aggressive and as I thought the architecture was just stunning, I tried to add as much detail as I could to Seacil. Her environment would be in water or near it, with lots of curved shapes.

Tabos, no doubt about is was influenced by the Seoul Desk And Table. Tabos is basically a living table that is very friendly and cheerful. As you serve food on a table, I thought that Tabos should be always happy to serve! How good is having a table that serves you himself and gives dancing entertainment later on? His environment would be somewhere urban, in a restaurant of some kind.
Beginning Concepts...

For my two creatures, I have chosen Lorcan and Seacil to be the clients as I had a more clearer idea to what their environment and home would be like. Below are my beginning concepts...
