Zaha Hadid, known for being the first women to get the Pritzker Prize for Architecture, is an exceptionally smart and creative architect with a large and forceful character. She was "more famous not for the buildings she had built, but for the ones she had not built- preserved only in her famously vigorous, dramatic images." Her architecture can be called "baroque modernism." It broke the old rules of space of having a box like building with walls and ceilings. What I like about her architecture is that it flows, denying a solid outlook with signs of Hadid's culture and "undemocratic modern urban" influences in it.

Architecture Influences

1.) Maggie Centre at Hospital Kirkcaldy, Scotland

For my first  influence, I chose the Maggie Centre, a unit attached to the Hospital where anyone related to the disease of cancer can gather together. The sharp and crisp edges of the structure have drawn me towards this architecture.

2.) Seoul Desk and Table

For my second influence, I chose a desk and table designed by Zaha Hadid as the object to model. This is a sleek and interesting table, keeping with the straighter edges rather than the famous curves of her architecture.

3.) Daniel Pantelas: Micarta Chair 2077 - Gagosian Gallery, New York

This was a previous model that I had modeled first. I did not do this before as I lacked the knowledge to make the 3d model. However, I decided to give it another go.

Concepts To Models

I decided to sketch my concepts before making the models to give a more clearer insight to what I am doing. The problem with making these models were how to hold everything together, and how to express my ideas into reality while following the rules of the exercise.

While making the models, I did not really remember that I had to model them. My first model is going to be a huge challenge to model and get right, however I feel that my second model would be much easier. Because of that, I will try to have a higher degree of detail in the model.

Models With 3D Models

  1. Your models represent each other near perfectly in all four of your examples shown. I don't think there is any criticism I can give for the comparison's between the works. The only thing I could see that has the slightest difference is the angle at which the photograph and 3D models are displayed. Overall I would have to say your work is near perfect.
